Barbara Ortelli Pin was born in 1961, in Switzerland. She graduated as a textile designer from the Centre of Industrial Arts (CSIA) in Lugano. She has taken part in national and international exhibitions of textile art. She enriches her skill by regularly taking part in advanced illustration courses at the International School of Illustration of Sarmede. She is currently participating in several exhibitions of illustration. At the same time she also has other professional strings to her bow. For many years she was responsible for the exhibition cycle “Art in Hospital” in Lugano. In 2013 saw the publication of her first iBook, “Veneziando”, a collection of illustrations and short bilingual texts in tribute to the city of Venice. The constant search of everything surrounding creativity, through the colour, composition and tactile perception leads her to approach the artist’s book medium. Her works have been used to make CD-covers.

Barbara Ortelli Pin nasce nel 1961 a Lugano, in Svizzera. Si diploma quale disegnatrice tessile presso il Centro Scolastico Industrie Artistiche (CSIA) di Lugano. Ha partecipato ad esposizioni nazionali ed internazionali di arte tessile. Arricchisce la sua formazione artistica frequentando con regolarità i corsi di perfezionamento d’illustrazione presso la Scuola Internazionale di Illustrazione di Sarmede. Ha partecipato a diverse esposizioni di illustrazioni. Parallelamente intraprende altre strade professionali. Per anni si è occupata dell’organizzazione dei cicli espositivi “Arte in Ospedale” a Lugano. Nel 2013 la pubblicazione del suo primo iBook, “Veneziando”, una raccolta di illustrazioni e brevi testi bilingue in omaggio alla città di Venezia. La ricerca costante in tutto ciò che circonda la creatività, attraverso il colore, la composizione e la percezione tattile la portano ad avvicinarsi nel 2014 al libro d’artista. Alcune delle sue illustrazioni sono state utilizzate per copertine di CD.
